A Seven-Year Pact: The Journey of Trust with Mr. Benjamin from Rwanda
The time difference across the two ends of the screen has never hindered the rapport between Mr. Benjamin from Rwanda and me.
Since we started our cooperation in 2018 through one friend Mr.Lagueere, he, on the other end of the network cable, always responds to every inquiry with a hearty laugh. We finalize quotations and confirm documents through the digital interface, yet accumulate profound trust in the lines of our communications.
This spring, a message from Benjamin arrived with tropical enthusiasm: he would come to Guangzhou in person to purchase building materials for his new hotel, and specifically arranged a meeting to discuss 3units HOWO dump trucks.
In a teahouse by the Pearl River, as he unfolded the hotel design drawings, his fingertips glided over the dump truck parameter sheet — "Your trucks are very reliable at the construction sites in Kigali. For the infrastructure of this new hotel, I only trust HOWO." Seven years of cooperation have transitioned from online to offline, from strangeness to familiarity. When he held my hand and said, "Meeting in person makes me realize you are even more reliable than in emails," it suddenly dawned on me: the essence of cross-border trade is never just about the exchange of documents, but about letting trust transcend mountains and seas, bearing more abundant fruits in the spring light of Guangzhou.
